Continental ceramic type fuses are found on many older vehicles such as

Continental fuses which have blown are normally easy to recognise by the visibly broken fuse wire however a quick test can be carried out of powered circuits using a simple test light clipped to chassis ground and then probe used to check for power at either contact end of fuse.
