Camshaft Position Sensor
We supply a range of camshaft position sensors for Automotive Technician and Motor trade use.
Camshaft position sensors are fitted to modern petrol and diesel engines to enable monitoring of the rotational position of the engine camshaft(s) providing electrical signal output which is sent to the engine control unit via wiring.
The Cam sensor signal is processed by the engine management computer to provide cylinder phasing for spark ignition and fuel injector timing.
Camshaft position sensor failure can cause poor engine starting or vehicle breakdown where the engine refuses to start.
The engine management warning lamp may illuminate.

Cam position sensor diagnostics
Diagnosis may require reading of fault codes and live data using a scan tool, or oscilloscope signal testing.
Typical EOBD fault codes may include P0340,general range is P0335 to P0349 . Specific manufacturer fault codes may be present.
Fault codes may need clearing after correct positioning or replacement of the camshaft sensor.
